Week 23

We had another check up today. Everything is well. The baby's heartbeat today was 153. It is pretty amazing how quickly time seems to be passing. We have 17 weeks until our little one is here.

Week 23 Facts:
The baby is weighing about 1 pound.
The pancreas is developing around this time.

Other things I have been learning along the way...
: Car seats have about a six year life span until they expire.
: Registering is overwhelming and exhausting! The first time we went, we had to leave after about the first 20 minutes because we didn't know even where to begin! (By the way we are at Babies'R'Us and we have completed our registry!)
: New mothers are irreplaceable! Thank goodness for a few of my close friends who have just had children! They have been such a guide and support with knowing how to even comprehend and prepare for the little one.

Results From This Morning

We had a successful check up this morning at the Cleveland Clinic Wooster Women's Health Center. After drinking my 32oz. of liquid, I was geared up and ready for the ultrasound. It was successful! Baby is healthy and doing well. It is pretty incredible to be able to watch all the baby's movement as the ultrasound tech takes all the pictures they need. With a gain of 3.5 whole pounds and a measurement of 21cm, we are doing well. I was informed today that your measurement should correlate with how many weeks along you are in your pregnancy. However, in my case, Dr. Bare also informed me that because of my short stature, that is why mine reads a little bit higher. Who knew?! It didn't surprise me in the least bit. It comes with the territory I suppose. Here are a few pictures from this mornings visit.

As you can see in this second picture, the baby is all stretched out. Phil sent this picture to all our parents as soon as we got out of the appointment and I quickly got a response from my mother-in-law saying, "Wow look at those legs! That kid already taller than Hannah : }" Oh how I do love her! And yes this child, I trust, will grow much taller then me!

Week 19: Gender of Baby

Today is October 25th and in about 45 minutes we will be going to have an ultrasound done to see if we will be having a boy or a girl. And wouldn't you like to know what we are having, huh? : )

November 13th we are having what we would like to call a :Pink or Blue Party:
It will be at my parents house at 6:00pm. All are invited! We just want a chance to get together to share with our friends and family and to celebrate!

Here are the latest pictures...
I can't hide it anymore...

Life continues to happen and I am so thankful for that! It is simply a reminder that God is still in control of this body no matter how it is changing!(For better or worse...) This is a picture of my friend Ashley and I. I don't get to see her very often, but when I do, she sure fills up the room with so much joy! Again, I can not even begin to say how thankful I am for community. I am blessed daily by those around us who have been walking beside us through this process.

Yes...it is true.

Many of you have been asking and it is time to share...

On March 21st, 2010, we will be welcoming a little baby into this world. Hard to imagine, I know, but we are so thankful. I keep thinking about all the changes this baby is going to bring and the only thing that I keep coming back to is this: Phil and I can't do this on our own. We know little about parenting and little about babies. However, we have a community around us that I know will be right by our side in raising this child. Many who will teach us how to love deeper then we ever have before.

I am 15 weeks along and I know many have been asking for pictures so here we go!

Week 15

Week 14

Week 12

Week 6

It's funny how things come full circle and by no coincidence at all! I took the pregnancy test back on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Let me tell you a little bit about what was happening this week. Over the previous weeks, Phil had been applying for a job back in Ohio at my home church Living Water. This had been a long, tedious process. We were to find out if he got this position over the coming weekend. I had prayed so much about this that I was finally to a place where I felt such peace about whether we were to move to Ohio or stay in Wisconsin. At the end of June, I was offered a 2nd grade teaching position in the Janesville School District and I was ecstatic! Dream job with a dream team! It seemed like it couldn't get any better! However, the principal and I had many discussions about the different possibilities that could be in the future and by the weekend as well, I needed to let her know if I was going to be able to stay to teach or would I need to be replaced. More over, the only thing I wanted to do was call my mom. Easy right? Well not when the family is half way across the world in a land where cell phones sometimes work. :) And I couldn't bare with telling my family over the phone! So...all this to say...I was a mess for a few days. : ) God why now? Aren't our plans good enough? Yeah, right. A quick lesson I was learning yet again. His plan IS the plan! The only plan!

We made it through the week and yes, Phil did get the worship leading position back in Ohio. About two weeks later, there were many sad goodbyes as we had to leave many close friends in Janesville.  We are back close to our family's and trying to live in the plan the Lord has for us here.
